It is clear that movie technology greatly progressed from 1960 to 2002. In the 1960 show “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street” there is closer up shots then far away. This is because the 2002 episode has more updated cameras so they can take far away shots. Also, for the 1960 and 2002 episode: for example; in the 1960 version the sound was different because there wasn’t any music. But in the 2002 episode there was background music.
The Crazies to Say the Least “David leans on the sideline fence, sipping his coffee, watching the game. No one has yet noticed the dark figure walking out of the shadowy woods beyond the outfield. Weaving like a drunkard, he walks right onto the playing field, oblivious to the game. He is carrying a shotgun. Heads turn, mouths falling open in the bleachers and dugouts, everybody staring in collective disbelief.
“I think anyone can have TB, it is not choosy.” Nakubheka, the 12 year old from Swaziland with MDR-TB, stated the grim reality of living in a country wracked by disease. Yet, according to the film TB: Silent Killer, TB was treated with as much stigma as HIV/AIDs. This stigma causes people to delay getting diagnosis and treatment. Often people would keep the diagnosis to themselves, remaining at home.
This week’s video was pretty amazing watching how the Kalashnikov was made and the testing it goes through. Furthermore, I would like to think that I know quite a bit about guns and the difference between them. I had to humble myself and came to the realization that I don’t know everything there is about guns. The video about the Kalashnikov was captivating learning how Mikhail Kalashnikov was wounded in battle.
Throughout the movie “End of Watch” follows along with Officer Brian Taylor (Gyllenhaal) and Officer Mike Zavala (Pena) on their daily patrols in the inner city of Los Angeles. During the course of the movie, there are many things that Officer Taylor and Officer Zavala do that is very common and even accepted among police officers. But, one reoccurring theme is that they use foul language while on duty, act unprofessional, and use excessive force. In addition, Officer Taylor is actively recording his daily activities while on duty with a handheld video camera and lapel body cameras for both himself and Officer Zavala. Even though Officer Taylor was repeatedly told to cease his filming by fellow officers and supervisors he continued his behavior.
Ethical challenges are of universal span; many people including police officers are confronted with the opportunities for violating organizational rules and norms daily. Most of the stories about police officers in the media, including Cops and Criminal Minds, are about respectable police officers, but the intense 2001 movie Training Day is not. Alonzo Harris, a veteran police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), is training Jake Hoyt, a rookie officer on his first day with the narcotics unit. Harris’ character is an example of police officers’ potential for corruption. For instance, when Harris misuses the police authority and uses some fake arrest warrant seizing millions of dollars from a former LAPD veteran, now an informant
Walter M. Kinbrough, president of Dillard University, believes that “College, primarily providing an intellectual foundation for a chosen profession, is still a great place to make lifelong friends, meet a spouse, develop professional networks, and discover mentors. It facilitates intellectual, professional, and personal collisions, all of which have value.” Similarly, the purpose of college in the 2013 Disney Pixar movie Monsters University, is to provide a place for personal and intellectual growth, preparing students for success in their future. Monsters University has high values and expectations toward intellect and social abilities, and it is imperative for students to achieve these standards to be successful. In the beginning of Monsters
The return of the past invokes similar effects in the films Stella Dallas and Random Harvest; in both films the past invokes traumatic experiences for those on screen. The film Stella Dallas is a work thats narrative focuses on a women of lower socioeconomic standing that marries rich, then fights to belong within that society while not losing herself. In the end we see that she finally chooses her to embrace her roots and leave the high class society behind. However, it is her past, and true self that causes her continual trauma throughout the film. While this melodramatic work follows the love story of the two, it also depicts the class divides in American society, and the struggles of a working class mother who has a “passing” child(Whitney 6).
In history class, the introduction of two separate movements during the Renaissance era of Europe has become beneficial. Both Italian and Northern Renaissance movements in Europe have their distinct similarities and differences, which is vital to learning about how the world was shaped centuries ago. Using primary and secondary sources to understand the comparison will be useful. By utilizing the work of Niccolo Machiavelli’s, The Prince and Sir Thomas More’s, Utopia, it will be possible, with the assistance of outside sources, to formulate an analysis comparing both Italian and Northern Renaissance movements. A major priority for the variety of leaders during the Renaissance era of Europe was the ability to control over a specific group of
Peter and the Wolf is a video about a kid going out to defeat the wolf, but there are many ways these video could be perceived in a deeper form. A lot had happen during 1946 and 2006, so each video have their differences in representation. These two videos also have a similar root of understanding. In the 1946 version, I believe it was a representation of segregation because America is in the midst of adjusting to African-Americans having rights. In the 2006 version, the wars could have been a huge factor in it.

Even after my first visit to Brandeis in July, though, I was skeptical- how could a school be so rigorous and yet so accommodating, so prestigious and yet so friendly, equally dedicated
Thirty-seven million casualties, thirty-two countries, four years, two alliance systems, and one assassination. the Great War, which lasted from 1914 to 1918, was perhaps one of the most important and destructive wars of all times. All major industrialized countries including Britain, the United States of America, Germany, France, Italy, Austria-Hungary and Russia were reeled into the Western front in France and the eastern front near Russia to fight. Although there were multiple causes to the strife known as World War one; the main three were the greed of imperialism, the pride of nationalism, and the threat of militarism. Sidney Fay Bradshaw once said, “Intense rivalry for prestige, markets resources and colonies led to confrontations…these
