Lacrosse was a sport that I had dreamed of playing and was always on my mind. My friends and family motivated me to try my best and work hard towards my goal of making the freshman team. My first tryout freshman year had been so nerve racking and my mind was always thinking negatively. I thought I did not have the skills or ability to stand out against all of the other talented girls.The tryouts had drained me emotionally and physically and finally after a long week they ended. After the final day of tryouts, a list was posted of the girls who made the team. I was filled with shock and joy when I saw my name on the big white shiny paper. People strive towards success with the motivation that they inspire themselves with. How you value motivation is depicted through the various ways that you apply yourself in a situation. Being motivated is because of strong reasons that people hold within themselves. Motivation is the set of factors that initiate, direct, and maintain behavior, usually toward a certain goal. Motivation does not always lead to success, it depends on how badly you want something and how hard you are willing to work for it. People can support and motivate others but if others are content with where they stand in society they can ignore it and move on. In our society today motivation is looked upon in two different ways, one as a burden and the other as a key in achieving success. Motivation can be triggered from the sense of money and purpose. Motivation can be a burden in that when people try to motivate themselves to accomplish something they feel the “need” that they have to do it and have no other choice.
