Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, born January 27, 1756, was an Austrian pianist and composer. His influence started in Salzburg, Austria, and spread to other places in Europe when he was six years old due to his public performances. He is known in the music world for composing hundreds of works and being a heavy influence of the classical era. His early life was a very busy one. At an early age of three, he showed interest in the keyboard when he saw his sister Maria playing it. By imitating how she played, he quickly showed promise in music. Between the ages of six and fifteen, about half of his life was spent going on tour with his father, Leopold Mozart, who was a violinist and composer. His talent was presented to royal courts and the public. Going on tour around Europe helped him develop his own music style, as he picked up small things that he liked from each place that he visited. His first tour, at age six, was to Munich. Later tours proved to be stressful, as members of the family would frequently become ill and have to limit their performance schedule. At the age of thirteen, Mozart started to show bigger promise in composing music. It was this time when Mozart and his father set out for Italy. In 1779 he composed a few more works, most notably church works. He also composed more operas. In March of 1781, he was called to go to Vienna by Hieronymus von Colleredo. Hieronymus von Colleredo had a somewhat negative attitude towards Mozart, which offended Mozart. Mozart was treated as a servant and really did not like being treated as a servant because, well, he was not a servant. After an argument, Mozart resigned his post.
