Aaron Owens 2 nd hour Mr. Burton The Midnight mansion murder It was a dark and stormy night in Virden, IL, and the old mansion at the edge of town was over 250 years old. Inside the mansion, a group of friends (Aaron, Keegan, and Carson) gathered for a creepy sleepover. They were doing a challenge “Whoever lasts the longest wins $200”. But what was supposed to be a night of fun became a murder mystery. Mr. Burton, the owner of the $7.5M mansion, was found lifeless in his bedroom on the 2nd floor. The news spread fast, and soon everyone in town knew about the Mansion Murder. The Governor of Virden called a private investigator to find out who the murderer was. Burton was murdered and went to the back yard where Carson said he saw the man. She looked through the entire backyard and even looked at the swimming pool, but when she checked the bushes, she saw something shiny deep down in the bush she grabbed it and there it was the knife that killed Mr. Burton! When the investigator arrived back at her office, she went to the police station and asked if she could get a fingerprint scan on the knife that was involved in the murder of Mr. Burton. When the tests came back, there was nothing, no trace of fingerprints, just Mr. Burtons blood. “Whoever killed Mr. Burton was wearing gloves so there is no way we could get any fingerprints off the knife,” the officer said. Detective Jones had 2 more people to investigate and that was Mr. Burtons housekeeper and business partner because, they were both there the night of the murder. Detective Jones went to the Mansion to investigate Brennan (the housekeeper). Detective Jones brought Brennan to the dining room table and started asking him questions “Where were you the night of the murder Brennan?” Detective Jones said, “Me and Mr. Burton (the mansion owner) went to bed at the same time he was perfectly fine before he went to his master bedroom”.
