We often find ourselves in situations which prompt certain questions; questions we often try to carefully navigate around (or avoid all together). It is here where we note that a difference exists between those individuals who hold fast to their personal beliefs during multifarious situations, and those who do not. Inarguably, Life provides us with plenty of opportunities to decisively exercise and demonstrate virtuous qualities: specifically integrity. Integrity requires us to remain honest and decisively act upon moral and ethically sound reasoning.
INTEGRITY Integrity is important for many reasons. The author, Ethan Canin, uses integrity as the central idea of his short story, “The Palace Thief”. The narrator, Hundert, believes it's his job to mold his students’ characters,so that these boys could grow up to become powerful leaders with good morals.
“Integrity characterize leaders who possess the qualities of honesty and trustworthiness” (Northouse, Introduction to Leadership: Concepts and Practice, 2017). He continues to say that people who show integrity are “loyal, dependable, and transparent.” Which is what Brinkman recommends marketing a company so that it “increases the likelihood of gaining referrals and new customers” (Brinkman, The Power Of Consistent Branding That Tells A Story,
Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong morals. Being honest means to be sincere, and having strong morals means to be a good member of society. These qualities were used in the Holocaust. The Holocaust was where six million Jewish people were murdered . It was very hard to use integrity while in war because it was very risky for everyone.
Integrity is defined as the quality of having, living by, keeping, and defending one’s firm moral principles in all circumstances. Men throughout history have exhibited this trait. Martin Luther King, Jr., portrayed this quality when he led the African-American Civil Rights Movement. Integrity was also ubiquitous throughout the Bible. Joseph, a Biblical character, displayed this quality throughout his life of slavery in Egypt.
Ethics and integrity are essential components of character for any positive, influential leader.. Both ethics and integrity are skill sets that can be honed over time; however, it is in best practice to have them aligned with personal values which tend to be invariant. Remember the Titans, demonstrates how values can evolve. The Titans bring together a hostile torn community during the mandatory integration processes in Virginia through leaders maintaining their ethics. Not only does the movie depict values along with ethics and integrity, but it also illustrates the core competencies of this pillar.
According to the dictionary the definition of integrity is; the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles and moral uprightness. Jesus was just that, after getting baptized by John the baptist, Jesus was led to the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. The devil tried to bribe Jesus with all the riches of the world, but even at his most vulnerable point, Jesus refused and rebuked the devil. This is a very good example that jesus had good morals and was trustworthy. Another example about how jesus had integrity was when he was arrested by the temple guards of sanhedrin, one of his disciples named Peter tried to stop them by pulling out a sword and cutting one of the guards ears off.
Having integrity enables a person to build trust and portray themselves as one who can be trusted. American author, H. Jackson Brown Jr. once said, “Don’t work for recognition, but do work worthy of recognition”. Service enriches our life. Integrity can be defined as being honest and having strong morals. Being able to balance one’s own integrity and professional responsibility is what determines how successful they will be. If someone’s personal integrity and professional responsibility aren’t balanced, they will interfere with or hinder the other. Ultimately, a person is successful if they can balance their personal integrity and professional responsibility.
In the world, people who have high morals, a conscience and the want to do the right thing, have high integrity. This could be seen in Macduff from Macbeth Shakespeare, “John. F. Kennedy Speech” and the speaker in “The Man He Killed” by Thomas Hardy. Macduff, Kennedy and the speaker all had professional responsibility they had to maintain. People have to put aside their personal integrity to fulfill their professional responsibility.
Integrity is a term used to describe a person 's level of honesty, moral commitments, and willingness to do what 's right. Choosing what is right over what is fun, fast or easy, and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them. Given the real definition of integrity, we recognize that it is actually extremely difficult to be in integrity 100% of the time. We aspire to be in integrity with what we believe but sometimes, we mess up. Sometimes, our emotions get the best of us and we are unable to manage our behavior and actions.
