We thank you for all your supports and trust to our high school. As always, we put the interest of the students in our mind. In today’s world, everyone is on multitasking. Being in the working world or during the life of a scholar. Multitasking may be good for one to have all sort of experience and to be trained as any potential leaders. But, many students are proud of themselves that they can chat with friends while they are playing the computer games. In reality, they are not doing the tasks at the same time, but they are shifting tasks and spending lesser time on each task. Meyer, director of the Brain, Cognition, and Action Laboratory at the University of Michigan, states “The bottom line is that you can’t simultaneously be thinking about your tax return and reading an essay, just as you can’t talk to yourself about two things at once” (Wallis 10). In that case, people will get confused on what they’re doing currently when they try to accomplish two or more tasks at the same time. As a matter of fact we are sure that as parents, most of you are as concerned about your children. We have to acknowledge such trends are happening, but we sure we can work together to help students progress and achieve better results in their studies with proper guidance on multitasking. Most parents are the part of this problem. “According to Kaiser survey, only 23% of seventh-to-12th graders say their family has rules about computer activity; just 17% say they have restrictions on video-game time” (Wallis 11). More importantly, parents should put more focus on their children and set more rules on their children on using the technology. For example, a child’s grade dropped from A to C once he got attracted to the online games which caused him not to do his school assignments and perform poorly in school.
