What constitutes between fair use and copyrighted plagiarized material? Uploading Copyrighted works to Youtube in full song length is plagiarization, but what constitutes fair use in using a Sample of musical work for new music? I am taking into account two very different forms of handling the issue on copyrighted material in the musical industry. Michael Schuster’s the Study of Music Sampling’s effect on the Market for Copyrighted Works takes a professional, legal, approach to the issue on copyrighted material and its effect on the Musical Market. Michael focuses around scholars in the music industry that center around the economics of the business. And he pertains to any person in the field of music dealing with copyright law. For example, if someone needed research essay to back specific copyright claims such as reproduction of sounds from an original artist showing “the rights of reproduction and preparation of of derivative works only apply to the actual sounds embodied in the copyrighted work” (Michael 445). In regards to Reddit, the Audience is focused around the community of WeAreTheMusicMakers, which mainly is about people who enjoy making music or listening to music “WeAreTheMusicMakers (WatMM)” is a subreddit for hobbyists, professional musicians, and enthusiasts to discuss music-related topics, ask questions and share useful information.”(Reddit). He has to appeal and make his essay gear towards professionals in his field. To do so, a long essay will help explain his topic in his field of work. Lengthy, descriptive sections of an essay divided into make sub topics will make an interesting and concise read to his audience. When someone will post music from a well known artist it is allowed to be posted “to ask specific production questions. It may NOT be posted for its own
