In his article titled “I Am a Community College Student,” Terry O’Banion tells his own educational story and explains how he feels he is a community college student because of the great opportunities a community college can give students. They are affordable, close to home and Community oriented. Attending college has been an ongoing dream throughout my life. Reaching the big leagues would be one of my major goals and accomplishments. Furthermore, coding is a very important aspect
As a young student, I would often see many college students deeply focused on their work. Seeing them motivated me to learn more and concentrate on the two most important things in life, learning and helping others. I was always interested in learning about Cyber Security and protecting personal data against hackers trying to attack the network. I want to continue my studies through graduate level education in computers. I strongly feel like the Early College Program will help me achieve my goals.
My plan is to attend a four year university full time at University of Washington Bothell and major in computer science field because I am passionate about working with technology, and I want to understand how we can continue to draw knowledge from it. In addition, I plan to attend graduate school while working in the computer science field after I finished with my undergraduate school. I want to be able to give back to the society for all the resources it provided me to reach this point in my education and continue working toward fulfilling my life goals. The Intro to Computer Science class at Roosevelt is helping me understand what it takes to be a computer science major student. One thing I learned from the class is that success comes from patience and effort.
Throughout my high school career, I was forced into many situations where I was challenged to connect with my peers and serve as a role model for future students. Whether it be my involvement in the school marching band, or helping students in community tutoring sessions, I have always made it my goal to better the people around me through my own efforts. Throughout my high school career, I have put forth my best effort to connect with my peers, transform individuals, and make a difference in my community. Joining the school marching band at the beginning of my freshman year of high school was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
My goal is to become a college counselor. I want to guide students to their career paths, by helping them discover their own talents, self-interests, and limitations. With these tools, students will be able to utilize the resources around them. Also, I plan to give assistance to those students that are considered a minority and are the first generations going to college.
Technology is the future, it’s the fast growing highest grossing job market today. So a degree in technology provides you with a solid career in the professional world while instilling the skills needed to moonlight your passions with video games. At least until you become a success and can devote all your time to video game development. I picked software engineering and programming in particular because it is a unique skill that allows people to creatively solve the world’s problems while finding new ways to entertain people. Programming is poetry and the precision of math in action.
Considering your lifetime goals, discuss how your current and future academic and extra-curricular activities might help you achieve your goals. My lifetime goal is to travel the world and study how different cultures influence the business of fashion. I believe through exploring varying cultures and exchanges, I will be an asset to stores, magazines, or film productions. As excited as I am to see the beauty, learn about the history and study the design, I am really eager to learn how to run a successful business.
My goals have changed a lot over the last couple of years. Bouncing back and forth between majors and deciding if I even want to be taking college classes right now. I kept asking myself why I should struggle with hard classes when I have a good job right now. But then I stopped and repeated “good job right now.” My job as a twenty year old might support me right now but is it going to support me in ten or fifteen years when I’m trying to buy a house and support my family?
For as long as I can remember, I have possessed a desire to help people, especially those who are less fortunate than me. This trait along with life experiences are what drew me to want to pursue a career in social work. I want to be available to provide support to people when they have nowhere else to turn. My experiences in social work have taught me to celebrate the small victories just as much as the big.
