Philosophy of Education Working as an elementary school teacher is one of my next steps in reaching my true goal: becoming a Humanities professor. Before beginning the teaching program for my bachelor’s, I had plenty of time during the process for my Associate’s to really think about what I wanted to do with my life. Originally, I was practicing to be a Forensic Pathologist: not only is the minimum salary $500,000 a year, but there is only 72 employed Forensic Pathologists in the United States, and I would be the first Native American to become one. Teachers must make the students feel welcome, as the students should make each other feel, with no exceptions. The more comfortable and inviting the classroom atmosphere, the more likely the student will perform better and have a willingness to focus as well as participate. If a student does not feel welcome or comfortable, they then have the want to fail and stay aloof of their fellow classmates. As a future teacher, I want my students to see me not only as an authoritarian figure, but also as an inviting and welcoming third parental figure, to encourage them to speak, participate, and work with their fellow classmates, or their second …show more content…

The room should reflect the ideals of organization, to provide an easier and more understanding environment, while also providing the needed warm and invitingness for the students. To create more surrounding organization creates a more organized student, as well as teacher. Students could have individual stacking drawers for their personal belongings, tubs in the middle of group tables with the supplies needed for the daily lesson, and charts around the classroom for understanding roles for organization after classroom tasks to be completed by the students. Students must learn early on organization early on to help them better succeed in life as future adults. Having an organized classroom also shows an organized leader and will inspire the students to do the
