My personal literacy story might be considered as a short story. My literacy story stated very young with my mother and father reading me stories before I could read; some stories that were told to me were bible stories, Junie B Jones, Magic Tree house, and of course superhero comics.
I began learning my letters from collecting fallen billboard letters. I eventually learned how to read and write at the end of Kindergarten. My favorite literature at that time was comic books. My neighbor, who was a comic author, inspired my love for comics. My neighbor would come over and teach me how to draw and write comics, which influenced me to create my own. People think that if they say something incorrectly then she will judge them. Noticing that she is an English professor delights other people. Those people are delighted because they can rant about how much they hate how some people are terrible at grammar. In fact Ms. Curzan embraces their incorrectness. Ann also speaks about how people believe that the Internet is degrading language. She mentions about how Facebook makes people upset by making up words like “defriend.” She asks, “What makes a word real?” When she asks that question she goes into depth about how words are made. Language should adapt and shouldn't be a rulebook. Language is very important and is most effective when people can speak how they want. There may be disadvantages to language always changing such as people not knowing what others are saying. An example of this would be old people not knowing what teens are talking about on social media using modern lingo.
Language adaption lets people use their creativity and makes communication more enjoyable. Our literacy is very important to our success as people. Through literacy we can communicate and interact with others. Language can either start or end wars and it can create success. I believe there should be basic rules to our language just to set a
