Over the course of English 1302 at Texas Tech, I feel that my skills as a writer improved significantly. When beginning the class, I knew little about writing a literature review or researched argument. With the help of my instructor’s lectures and the University Writing Center, I was able to effectively get my point across effectively while forming a well developed and well spoken manner. The advice given to me about argumentative essays and integrating sources helped significantly over the course of this class, and the skills learned in English 1302 helped me in other classes this semester when writing as well. One of the things I have learned that influenced me the most was my professor’s advice about an argument.
My two essays I chose to compare and contrast are the Literary Analysis of When I Was Puerto Rican and Analyzing Foreshadowing in Desiree ’s Baby essays both done by analyzing others work which are similar in the way that I broke down the two essays apart and examined them to their truest meaning. In When I Was Puerto Rican I noticed that my work reflected how unadvanced of a writer I was during the beginning of the year and displayed how I clearly lacked greatly in depth and clarification of what I was trying to state. At times during the essay I would stray away from the main topic and lose concentration of my focal point or thesis statement.

I do realize I have a lot to learn but anytime I write better than I did the essay before that is a success. So, to any future students if you are here every day and participate you will be successful this class is organized to make sure when you start writing the essays you are well prepared from all the invention techniques. I feel my style has broadened because every essay I write feels easier and more professional. My attitude about writing is better as well I am no longer afraid of writing an essay or communicating via email with another professor or some other professional resource.

In my writing at first I with many part of sentence structure and grammar. Trying to not mess up in structure I was unable convey my ideas. Over the course of the semester it has became easier by every essay. My improvement was some not severely, but learning the basic again will help me for all class and other English courses. Writing again was something I slowly was becoming accustomed again as before.
Over these past six weeks my writing has improved in many different ways. In my 6-25-250 piece I really payed attention to detail and thoughtfully wrote one of the best pieces of writing that I have ever published. When I read it I could a picture was painted in my head of what was going on. I also spent a lot of out-of-class time perfecting my writing as much as I could. I improved on my grammar from the practice paragraphs that we have done and have used the bottom lessons on combining sentences in my writing.

If i had to redo my essay i would definitely spend more time on it. You could probably tell that it was last minit. If i would have started it when i first got it my essay would have been much better.
ENG-122 Reflective Essay My writing process has changed tremendously over the course of this class. I feel more accomplished, confident and I feel sometimes that my ideas and thoughts just come in to my mind out of nowhere and I start writing about anything now. I pay attention to my punctuation and grammar more as I have polished them more now, not only when I write but then others write as well. I am constantly looking for errors and I highly think this is helping me a lot in my career.
My sentences still read very choppy although they are much better than when I started this class. This can be ironed out of my writing by spending more time proofreading my papers. The sentence fluency I think will come the more I write, even by my last paper I feel it has improved drastically compared to my first paper. I think I could have been even more successful in this class if I had spent more time out of class proofreading and using my time better while I was in class. I feel that I have grown more than I originally planned on because this class involved us more in the first quarter.
My Writing Experience In previous courses, my writing skills have been mediocre or just enough to pass the class. Throughout the duration of this course, I have written a variety of papers using different techniques and skills. Previously I would write assuming that the only audience would be my instructor. I learned a lot of skills and techniques this quarter, which has helped me to improve and progress my writing skills for the future. I will remember the skills, techniques, and tips that professor gave us in this English class for my higher education. For example, all the time that I went to visit professor Sapozhnikov office hours to receive help on my out-of -class essays has helped me to improve, grow, and progress in my writing skills as a writer. Some of the significant changes I have made as I was progressing and growing were to develop a strong thesis to help support my claims as I write my essays, such as facts, observations, illustration, and examples.
