Murderer. The. What traits do you first think of when you hear that word? I doubt any of your first thoughts are about attractiveness. In the non-fiction story “The Devil In The White City,” Erik Larson conveys how H.H. Holmes, a serial killer in the late 1800s, used his attractiveness to lure unsuspecting women to trust him, with his ultimate goal of murdering them.
I expect and hope to graduate in 2021 which will be four years from now. I want to graduate as a bilingual elementary teacher. I have many reasons why I want to be a teacher. Most important I think I always had great teachers that inspire me to become one. My kinder teacher was a kind-hearted teacher who helped me a lot because I was very shy and I didn’t want to play with other kids.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, Briona Mcall, as your child’s new teacher in K-2 CDC special education class. I was recently hired at Holston View Elementary School as Mrs. McMurray is moving to Hong Kong to teach special education. We are excited for her and wish her the best. What are your educational goals and objectives? (300 character minimum) Education has always been an important aspect of my life. Academically, I will continue to strive to put forth all of my effort into my classes. I want to challenge myself with all advanced classes available in junior and senior years of my high school. For now, my first goal is to maintain A+’s in all of my classes to get higher GPA.
What is it Lupus is a chronic systemic rheumatic disease, that is, can affect any organ and / or system : joints and muscles, can damage the skin, kidney, lung and almost all organs. One of the characteristics of this disease is a disease that is very heterogeneous.
While great strides have been made in this field there is still a long way to go. In 1975, a law was passed that was intended to aid disabled and handicapped children in school. This law was called The Education for all Handicapped children Act (“Critical Issues). It provided hope for these children that they would be receiving a better education, it promised, “‘free and appropriate’ program of schooling; protection from discriminatory testing and stereotyping; and a specially designed individual evaluation of educational need” (“Critical Issues”). While this may have made a great impact in this particular field for its time period, this law is outdated, as times have changed, and revising needs to take place to further the education of special education children.
My 8th grade resource special education English class has 5 students (4 boys & 1 girl). When planning instruction & choosing strategies for these students I used detailed knowledge from formal evaluations & informal assessments to understand needs & abilities. I used learning & student interest profiles to plan instruction based on their individual interests & learning styles. I used previous lessons & work samples to understand the students’ background knowledge, & I incorporated their specialized learning goals into the lesson to fulfill the IEP requirements. When I reviewed evaluations & assessments I learned all 5 students have deficits in reading comprehension, written expression, & attention to tasks.
As I was still attending Valley State University my last year God bestowed a great blessing on me. I was hired in the Cleveland School District as an assistant Special Education teacher. This was a time where the Special Educators were introduce to inclusion allowing students to benefit from the least restrictive environment possible. The greatest achievement for these students is assisting them to advance in the highest level possible as they acquire desirable understanding in their achieved levels.
Thesis: To master the job of a Special Education teacher, it is important to have the right skills such as teaching, communicating, and patience. Relevance: A Special Education teacher is someone that works with children with a variety of disabilities.
Still, special education is one responsibility that we cannot afford to get wrong. Instruction can play a significant part in their prospective outcomes. Therefore we need to develop a well-defined philosophy regarding special education that considers the laws, your beliefs, and feelings related to working with students with exceptionalities. To become a better educator, I have developed my own personal philosophy with those considerations
The history of Special Education begins with the 18th century. Before that time, persons with disabilities were not taken in consideration, and were often mistaken as being possessed by evil powers, cursed, or simply stupid (Blackhurst 13, 14). With the beginning of the 18th century, and also of the period known as the Enlightenment, ideas about education started to arise. The Enlightenment period influenced Special Education is many ways.
Conclusion After spending some time in both the general and special educational classrooms, I found there were similarities and differences between the two for example special needs students received more personalised care than their counterparts in both classrooms. A difference was that the special educational classroom was perhaps more effective at the students developing to their full potential whereas the general classroom would teach them better social and communication skills. In short, they are both great environments for the students to be in despite the differences.

Their roles is to plan, coordinate, schedule, and evaluate curriculum and instructional outcomes within a secure, positive, and enriched inclusive classroom environment. Their main responsibility is to provide instructional schedule and long range plan information. On the other hand, special education teachers have to design their lessons plans to fit each of the individual’s needs. Their main role is to provide instruction and support which facilitate the participation of students with disabilities in special education classrooms, but also in regular education classrooms. Their principal responsibility is to serve as case managers and be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of their students.
I want to teach so that I can create an inclusive classroom environment that is perfect for learning. My goal is to get students excited to learn. I will accommodate to all of my students according to their individual needs. I aspire to be a teacher who respects their students and gets respect back.
