Professional Development Plan Over the past three years of graduate school, I have engaged in a variety of opportunities to build the foundational skills necessary to be a successful psychologist. Through my course work, I have been provided with foundational knowledge about assessments, interventions, and consultation. My school practicum in Beaufort County permitted me to utilize the skills that I learned in the classroom through interactions with children, families, teachers, and other school personnel. I acquired assessment and report writing skills and practiced implementing academic, behavior, and counseling interventions. During the summer of 2017, I acquired additional knowledge about the assessment and development of preschool aged children. Through my practicum in the PASS Clinic, I have furthered my assessment and report writing skills while also developing therapy skills. My experience in the PASS Clinic exposed me to the numerous barriers that practitioners outside of the school face when trying to connect the school, family, and clinicians. However, I would like to develop my skills regarding motivational interviewing and other therapeutic conversational techniques. Additionally, I tend to enjoy searching for a variety for resources to make therapy meaningful for children and families. However, sometimes this can be a disadvantage, as I may spend an inefficient amount of time looking for resources instead of working on other vital aspects of cases. Therefore, I would like to continue to develop my time management skills when planning for therapy sessions and when writing
