6.1 Identify and plan professional learning needs
The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers helps teachers become practitioners of socially responsible, technologically efficient and emotionally and culturally aware ways of learning. The standards help teachers recognise gaps in their own learning and teaching and allow them to work on their skills. The AITSL(https://www.aitsl.edu.au/teach/standards) website is one way to identify and aid the needs of teachers when trying to achieve these standards. The website has a variety of resources including games and tasks that help teachers unpack and implement the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. As technology is constantly adapting and changing as teachers it is essential to keep up to date with technology as it is a huge part of teaching in the 21st century. Continued professional development and professional conversations with other senior teacher will help me grow as a teacher; to apply this professional learning to help build on children’s achievement and their classroom learning. While I so far have limited experience in this area, this is something I will develop throughout my teaching career through professional development and conversations with the teaching community. I have now created a folder with all the information I have collected from PD sessions.
