When I initially heard about the Myers Briggs personality test, I was immediately intrigued. Yet, at the same time, I was slightly skeptical of the possibility that one, simple test would be able to categorize all types of people into just 16 different personalities. I felt that personality tests diminished individualism, and uniqueness. However, after reading through the ISFJ personality profile, I would have to say that I completely agree with all of the character traits of the “defender” personality. One of the traits that I would have to agree with, is the tendency to analyze every little thing. This characteristic was not something that I noticed about myself before taking this test. I thought most people looked into things as much as I did. However, I have learned that I do tend to analyze and overthink most everything. For example, I tried to create a chart that would organize every college class I would take for the next three years. Of course, after much effort, I did not succeed in this task. This is such an accurate description of me! I am guilty of several instances of procrastination, one that I remember in detail. In middle school, I was assigned a project in my Spanish class. We had to make a scrapbook of our family and describe each person using Spanish. Now, I cannot remember how much time was given, but I am sure that it was satisfactory. So being a natural procrastinator, I waited until the night before to start and finish this lengthy assignment, which included pictures and an actual scrapbook. However, even though I waited until the last minute, and stayed up past midnight; I was able to complete the project on time, and achieved a decent grade. This story helps to validate the accuracy of this personality
