NJHS: Scholarship, Leadership, Character, And Citizenship

There are 5 pillars to NJHS. These 5 pillars are Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character, and Citizenship. Below, I have given examples of how I have exemplified the 5 pillars of the NJHS. Scholarship: This is the first pillar of NJHS. There are many ways that I have shown this in my 7th grade year. The first way I have shown this is by maintaining high academic standards. Next I have participated in many academic competitions like the Spelling Bee, Mathcounts, and Science Olympiad, and Model UN, each of which where I have earned good results. Service: I have demonstrated devotion to service in my 7th grade year in many ways. The major way I have done so is by participating in service projects. Leadership: Leadership, the third pillar of NJHS, is something I've strived to do throughout my seventh-grade year. One notable example of my leadership skills in action is when I was the captain of the school’s Science Olympiad Team A. I conducted the meetings, organized them, and helped students study. I conducted a poll on whether or not I should be captain and many people voted for me. Even though the poll results showed I am good, I know I can do better to improve my leadership skills, so I know NJHS will have those resources to help get me to another level with leadership abilities. Whether it's standing up for what is right, demonstrating empathy towards others, or maintaining a positive attitude in the face of challenges, I have stayed open to show character traits that reflect positively on myself and inspire those around me.
