When I was born on February 24, 2001, a whole new adventure for my family and I had just begun. After living a couple years of my childhood in India, we decided to move to the United states which was a country unfamiliar to me back then. I remember every minute of the prolonged plane ride to the United States. I asked my parents more than a million question about what life was like in the country we were going to. My dad use to travel to the USA every couple months, so he knew what life was like here and how different it was from India. As the plane landed in America, I started to feel intensely nervous because I didn’t know how to speak English or know how people behaved in America at that time. As months passed by, I still didn’t have many friends or any experience with the dominant language which is English. My stress levels kept getting higher and higher when I was expected to go to school without knowing how to communicate to people and having no background knowledge about school in America. Then the day came, my first day of elementary school. I went to a school named Munhall Elementary School where I started 1st grade. My remember my first day of school abundantly where I felt like an outsider with no one to talk to but myself. I sat alone in class, in lunch and in PE I was considered the “weird” cause I didn’t know any sports. I cried multiple times to my parents to take me back to India, but every time they would tell that everything will get better as it did one day. After completing a couple days of school, a group of friends came up to me and asked me to play soccer for their recreational team due to my mass amount of foot muscle and kicking power.
