This weekend the Iowa Hawks are playing the Wisconsin Badgers at Kinnick Stadium. We decided to get tickets to go see the game and watch Iowa beat Wisconsin. Unfortunately, our seats were right next to a crowd of Wisconsin fans. I cannot stand that gaudy red. I didn’t expect them to talk to us since we weren’t for the same team, but they did. “Hey I’m Emily. Where are you from?” a girl asked. “Um hey, I’m Lexi and were from Dubuque but we came to see the Hawks.” “We came all the way from Madison. I hope the badgers win,” she said confidently. “I’m not sure if that’s going to happen today, Iowa is doing amazing this year,” I said right back. “The badgers have better defense than Iowa, so they have a big chance for a win,” Emily said. I sneered and replied, “You may think you have better defense, but our defense was ranked higher than Wisconsin’s. We also have a younger quarterback who has gained more yards in one year than the Badgers quarterback has in two years.” After my comment, she steered away from the conversation and moved back with her group of people. Of course I put my money on Iowa and she put her money on Wisconsin. The game progressed on and the Badgers were in the lead after the second half. I started to feel a little worried, but I knew the Hawks would pull through. At the beginning of the second half, the Badger fans had started chanting. Feeling overtaken by the visitors, I stood up and started chanting for our team. More and more people joined in and eventually you could not even hear the Wisconsin fans.
