Pouring a cup of hot chocolate and grabbing a bag of popcorn was best decision I made all day. Instead of watching the last JV football game of the year, I decided to help the concession stand disperse food and beverages to the community. Giving a little to my community brought me gratitude even though I did not benefit from it. Working for good causes was all I needed for choosing to work over spectating a game. Helping the community is one attribute I would like to continue and joining National Honors Society would allow me to do this. Football has proven to me that I have what it takes to be a leader. Ever since middle school I have been a team captain and leader for my team. Leadership does not always come from speaking but it also is shown by actions. I am known for my leadership skills on a football team because I show teammates the way to do drills and I encourage them to follow my hard work. My leader standpoint is not just in football but in the job I have worked for the past three years. The summer going into my freshman year I found a job I liked, a farming business. Two years of working under my boss, a Roscommon Commissioner, progressed my understanding of working above others instead of being a follower. Last year he retired and I decided to take over his business. Having a car allowed me to drive to work everyday before the sun rises above the trees. Getting to work on time was not something to worry about because I was the boss of my new business; my leadership when nobody gave me orders was well enough to get out of bed when most were still sleeping. Also, I planned everything in advance for my fruits and vegetables for planting and eventually selling the produce. My character helped me when I was on the road selling my organic fruits while my leadership allowed me to plan everything out for a successful business as a teenager. Besides leadership it is important to demonstrate good services for National Honors
