To whom this may concern. One of the five Pillars needed to be accepted into the National Junior Honor Society that best describes me, Molly Cormier is Leadership. Leadership is more than just guiding your friends and peers. Leadership means connecting and teaching others the different options they have, the skills they can learn, the smart decisions they can make, and the directions they can take those decisions to make a difference. I show these leadership qualities in my every day life. For example, I was given the role to be captain of the girls middle school basketball team in grade seven. I have always been willing to give out a helping hand to anyone and everyone in need. Recently I have not been physically available to do as much service as I wished. Starting this year I have had a busier schedule than normal. Because I've been balancing a lot of school and after school academics. Having only a few hours left in my weekdays and weekends to volunteer and do service, I have almost completely given up on participating in any service at all, as it isn't even a consideration in the back of my head. Recently I have realized I've only been finding service openings when I am unavailable. One way I could improve myself is finding service opportunities when I am available. For example, instead of taking part in activities right after school, which would interfere with my after school academics, I could instead volunteer somewhere close to my house later at night when I am available. Also improving myself, I could create my own services, in which people could volunteer and help with not as well known
