The National Honors Society is an organization that recognizes students that demonstrate their strength in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Throughout my years as a student, I have shown great examples of scholarship, leadership, service, and character that I believe make me qualified to be a member of NHS. I would be honored to join NHS because of the endless opportunities it presents to me. This nomination would help me continue to excel and achieve the high expectations that I have set for myself. Instead of dwelling on my weaknesses I embrace them and try my best to work on them. One of my biggest weakness is that I am a quiet and reserved person. Some people think that being shy is a good thing because it’s a sign that you are a reflective and observant person that is a great listener to others. However, I think that since I am an introvert, I get nervous a lot and stutter when I am speaking to people that I don’t know such as when giving a public speech or a presentation. I try my best to improve on this by participating in a lot of public events or forcing myself to be around other people in my community such as when volunteering at my library. I think that being a member in NHS will help many introverts overcome their fear of public speaking. Being a leader means that you can take initiative and action without being asked or required to do so. I believe that I have leadership qualities because I have 3 younger siblings that I have to be a role model to. My parents expect a lot from me and give me a lot of responsibilities. When my parents travel by themselves, my older sister and I have to take care of our younger siblings, and we do this by dividing up the chores so that everything gets done on the right time especially during Ramadan. As a result, I have learned how to become a responsible
