Unions play an important role on how a business’s human resource department runs. The National Labor Relations Act was established to give power to unions, to help them fight for equal rights for employees. Under the National Labor Relations Act, employees are allowed to hold elections for unions. The human resource managers have to be prepared to advise their managers on what they can or cannot do. For example, managers cannot tell employees they will be fired if they attend the union elections.
