They used numerous posters to try and promote the kkk and get people to join them. Life for the KKK targets was fearful. They always had to be on the lookout for the KKK. The poor always had to be on the move, mostly to find work. This was not unusual because in the 1930’s it was the great depression.
One of the most well-known ones is the Ku Klux Klan. The Ku Klux Klan was a white supremacist terrorist group that committed heinous acts against African-Americans and white sympathizers. Due to the abolishment of slavery, they wanted to reinstate white superiority and black economic and political instability. Although Congress attempted to combat the KKK with the Force Acts of 1870, their involvement eventually progressed into the Jim Crow Era. The KKK not only lynched and threatened thousands of people, but they practiced voter intimidation tactics in attempts to undo what Reconstruction had established.
Due to the ratification of the amendments, many southern elites could not stand the fact that African Americans were freed. One solution that was developed was to destroy reconstruction by murdering Black Americans. The Ku Klux Klan was then formed, this group consisted of vindictive Confederate Army veterans. Sought out to be heros to many southern democrats, but a nightmare for African American families. The Ku Klux Klan terrorized many African American families, burned down churches, drove thousands of families out of their homes, and caused great mayhem.

Despite being outlawed in the early 1870s, the Klan continued to operate in North Carolina and had a crucial part in the establishment of the Democratic Party in the state in the late nineteenth century. The SDS’s main issue revolved around the Vietnam War and particularly about matters relating to war, for instance, the drafting of students. The organization essentially wanted to create a “New Left” (Document 7). The Black Panther Party originally wanted to protect African Americans from acts of police brutality. However, along with putting an end to police brutality, they soon developed into a group who also wanted the release of all African Americans from jail and compensation for exploitation by white Americans (Document 8). The United Farm Workers ultimately wanted to improve migrant farmworkers wages and working conditions (Document 9).
This party stood for the segregation of the races and to accept private employment with governmental interference. They were opposed to action of the Democratic Convention in sponsoring a civil rights program that would abolish segregation, social equality, and voting and local law enforcement. They believed that these programs would destruct social, economic and political life of the South. They are against the United States becoming a police nation that would destroy all rights and liberty of every citizen. Therefore the rights should be returned to the people they belong to.
They impacted American people and black minorities. The KKK did not allow blacks to vote or get any kind of education. The black people would avoid groups of white people and crowded areas. They struggled with racial discrimination till they had fair and equal treatment. Successful black business were attacked but when protection groups were created they were quickly dealt with.

The group “most commonly, flogg[ed] men and sometimes women.” These revolting practices caused a sense of fear among people of color and the KKK utilized this fear to their advantage.
