I am writing this letter to you in regards to the Network Administrator position. Since January 2015, the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS) has compensated me out of class as a Network Administrator. My current position is Local Area Network Administrator, and it is one I have held since the year 2000. After I completed my Information Technology undergraduate program and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in December 2014, I was prepared to pursue higher positions within the field of Information Technology, a field that I have been associated with for over 24 years. Additionally, while serving in this role, I have provisioned equipment for staff, staged workstation deployments, created workstation images. Moreover, I have worked with our IT team to maintain, upgrade, diagnose, troubleshoot, manage, and improve upon technical issues and requests. One of my proudest achievements was when our department converted to Active Directory (AD) in 2009. This project involved establishing the department's footprint in the City's Active Directory Domain. My superior at the time placed me in a leadership role to manage the conversion project. I formed a team, held meetings, produced documentation, established a pilot group, tested implementations, configured user and group profiles, and managed the entire process. The project was a success.
