Nicole Brown Simpson, a German-born actress, was married to O.J. Simpson, a famous ex-professional American football player for the San Francisco 49ers in 1985. Brown and Simpson were married from 1985 to 1992. On February 25, 1992, the divorce took place due to Simpson's affair and claims of irreconcilable differences. On June 12, 1994, Brown was found stabbed to death outside her Los Angeles home, in Brentwood, along with her friend Ronald Goldman. Immediately after the crime scene was found and deemed murder, her ex-husband Simpson was the first suspect. Brown and Goldman were found outside Brown’s home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, by neighbors. Some of these reasons have left people conflicted on who really killed Brown and how they got away. Multiple of these theories will be explained below. O. J. Simpson: O.J. Simpson was the ex-husband of Nicole Brown Simpson. Simpson had a history of violence against Brown while the two were together. He was reportedly obsessive and controlling over her. During the hunt for the murderer, the prime suspect of her death was O.J. Simpson. According to the article by Sara Rimer “Her marriage, however, was far from serene. Simpson wasn’t just unfaithful; he was abusive. Friends and relatives later recounted seeing bruises on Brown’s body” (Rimer). Simpson was never faithful and many claimed he had the affair with Kris Jenner, mother to the famous Kardashians. Racism: During the O.J. Simpson trial: many accused the officers of racially profiling Simpson since he was black. There were conflicts between the American people as races had split views on a guilty or not verdict. According to the article O. J. Simpson Acquitted “Attorneys, who made the dramatic case that their client was framed by unscrupulous and racist police officers” (“O.J. Simpson Acquitted. His lawyers believed that Simpson was another African American victim of the white judicial system. In polls taken, the majority of African Americans believed Simpson was innocent and was a victim of police targeting. According to them, the police targeting is what led to the arrest of Simpson as he was black and Nicole Brown Simpson was a white woman. Many white Americans were not happy with the verdict, as they felt that he was guilty. However on April 11, 2024 Simpson died of cancer, putting many Americans at ease as many felt there was injustice caused by the not guilty verdict years ago.
