Nikola Tesla was a very interesting man. Tesla and his inventions have changed the world and inspired many. He had a very interesting life that many would call weird. Most people do not know much or anything about Nikola tesla even though they use technology that would not be around without his genius. Nikola Tesla was born July 10, 1856 in Croatia where he was the fourth out of five children (“top”). Tesla was born in a thunderstorm which makes it seem that even from birth he was involved with electricity. As noted in “Nikola Tesla the Genius Who lit the World”, “His father, Milutin Tesla was a Serbian Orthodox Priest and his mother Djuka Mandic was an inventor in her own right of household appliances.” Tesla studied at the Polytechnic Institute in Graz, the University of Prague, and the Realschule, Karlstadt. Tesla worked for Edison, and Tesla invented alternating current while under his employ. After Tesla stopped working for Edison and got financial backing from J.P. Morgan to build his Wardenclyffe lab (vujovic). Tesla experimented with many different types of science in his career, but he mainly focused on electricity and what he could do with it. He had many inventions that have changed the world and at the same time he had inventions that have mystified the world. Tesla created fluorescent light bulbs after wanting to improve on Edison's design. He also created high voltage transformers, electric oscillators, and the electric motor (Nikola). He had many different people perplexed by his inventions and designs. There are still some of Tesla's inventions we have yet to learn the secrets of. Some of these inventions are the death ray, the flying saucer, and improved airships
