The one and only great physicist, Nikola Tesla, was born on July 10, 1856 in Smiljan, Croatia. Tesla’s mother, Djuka Mandic, who was a semi engineer herself influenced Tesla the most as she invented household appliances. When Tesla first came to America, one of his first jobs was working with Thomas Edison but as their work started to boom their relationship came to a bust. Tesla invented alternating current because he saw that Thomas Edison's direct current could only move in one direction and Tesla simply wanted to be better and make something that can move in both direction as many times possible. He also invented the remote controller. In 1898, Tesla demonstrated how a remote can simply control a boat through radio waves. This lead to many other things becoming remotely controlled such as military guided bombs and rockets by another one of Tesla’s competitors, the Germans during the war. Tesla also invented one of the greatest inventions used today which is the electric motor. Unfortunately, the time the electric motor was invented, in 1930, was a major bust in the economy as people had a crucial dislike to his idea. Especially since people their minds on other things such as entering the world war. As Tesla’s inventions started to become popular, he also started to be recognized by other highly intellectual groups by getting awards such as the IEEE Edison Medal, John Scott Legacy Medal and Premium, and the Elliot Cresson
