It is very important for children to be able to play for many reasons. Play benefits children in many ways by allowing them to think creatively and use their imagination. Play also has wonderful social benefits that are very valuable as children work in groups. Over the years opportunities for play have decreased for many reasons. The biggest reason is many children are being raised in an increasingly hurried and pressured style. Parks are being built only thinking about the safety of the children, which is important, but also takes away the fun for children.
