A tragic story of one of the most innovative and intelligent quote-on-quote “dumb blondes” in history. One of Hollywood's most well-known figures, Norma Jeane Baker, paved the way for women in the entertainment industry with her innovative acting, singing, fashion, and modeling talents. Norma Jeane Baker, better known by her stage name “Marilyn Monroe” was born June 1st, 1926. We know Marilyn for being one of the greatest actors, singers, models, and even comedians in history. Despite her many successes and glamorous seeming life, her childhood was very unsteady. When Marilyn was a young girl she watched her mother, Gladys develop psychiatric problems. After dealing with many undeserved misfortunes she found a home after marrying her first love at the young age of 16. After their marriage, WWII hit. This brought Marilyn to work in a factory, where she was discovered by a photographer for her natural beauty. Eventually, her first marriage ended however, her modeling career skyrocketed. She dyed her brown hair blonde and created her stage name “Marilyn Monroe”. From here she made appearances in many popular television shows and movies. Even though she endured much success, things started going downhill. For instance, Monroe was struggling with her relationships. Many of her partners weren’t huge fans of her image and the attention she received. One of her first loves even shared how he didn’t know Marilyn Monroe, but he loved Norma Jean. Consequently, this leads to the ending of those chapters in her life. On top of this Marilyn often doubted her acting abilities causing her to struggle with performance anxiety. This shows that like any normal person, Marilyn faced normal struggles. She didn’t always have faith in herself and her abilities just like many people
