The evolution of Nursing has shifted from being seen as unprofessional career into now being one of the most popular professions within the United States. Nursing before was seen inferior to other careers, now it’s more of a superior career in comparison to other careers.
To take into account, during the 18th century Nursing was seen as a low social class job and many were not trained. However over time various nurses were able to shift from being rarely known to an increasing profession. During the Crimean War, nursing was unseen to be a profession and were only done by the lower societal class. The lower social class would take care of wounded soldiers such as Florence NightinGale did. The benefits of being a Nurse within the United States is actually very beneficial, referring to Rasmussen College, they show studies such as the 2016 Gallup Poll which shows that a Nursing profession is the top most trusted profession for 15 years straight. In other words being a Nurse can be a beneficial career and very trusted because many hospitals are in need of Nurses. Also a typical Nurse is a person who seeks to help people publicly or privately, but are usually heavy paid.
