Nutcracker Dance Performance

I went the performance of The Nutcracker by Ballet West. The theme of the concert was the Nutcracker/Christmas. I saw this concert because I wanted to see a Christmas dance and a profession dance with profession dancers. Before the show started they dimmed the lights in the audience and when the show started they lit the stage up. The costumes in the show were a mouse in a normal mouse costume, a bear in a normal bear costume, the snowflakes in light blue dresses, the snow queen and king where dressed in all white, the little girls where dress in colorful dress and the little boys in skinny suits, the adults where in long dark colored dress and suits, the sugar plum fairy had a pink dress with a long gold cape. The costumes made the show fill real. The setting was really detailed and fit in with all the dances.

There was about 5 solos, 15 duets and 25 group dances. There was a couple repeat dances there was also a couple dances that were the same but had fruit rolled up some moves or switched the moves out with a different move. This affected the dance by making it a little boring in some parts because I have all ready saw the same dance earlier in the show. There was one motif there was different there was dancers in the first a half that did different moves and in the end there was a couple of dancers that had put those dance moves into one big dance. The “ arc” of the dance was the snow queen and king dance and the sugar plum fairy dance this is because it was the middle of the dance and it looked like it was the hardest and most time put into it. This helped the piece by making it look like this dance had been worked on for a very long time
