It is ten o'clock or so when i saw the clock that's what it looked like and on a saturday night like this I couldn't bear going to sleep as early as that. The moment I heard the banging on my window I could only Danny wilson begging for money. I rolled up the unscreened window to find a drunken Danny Wilson. “Danny you look terrible” I said he replied with “I need a favor from you Gary” he mumbled, “ I need you to hold onto my book my parents are trying to sell it and my grandfather left it to me when he passed” I agreed to keep the book safe and he stumbled off into the warm summer night. He never seemed to be someone that had any sentimental items or have attachments it was very peculiar of him.

SCP 049 is sitting with his back against the wall, having difficulty reading since his containment chamber is too dim to see the words on the book. He sighs and sets the book down on the ground. He gazes outside his cell window and observes the male scientist sitting in a chair next to a desk working. Maybe if I get his attention we can have an intelligent conversation thought SCP 049.

Lea Vilna-Santos Mrs. English, 7th September 1st, 2015 The Giver, by: Lois Lowry Entry Log 9: Chapters 17-18: Question 5: I chapters 17-18, The Giver goes back to the memory of the failure-Rosemary, and Jonas finally finds out what happened to her. Rosemary was like Jonas because she was curious and eager to receive more memories. The Giver gave her only good memories in the beginning, which I think was a bad idea because, then, all there is left are bad memories. He loved her and didn’t want to hurt her, but they both knew it was her job to receive all the memories- even the negative ones.
- “It was so easy to disappear, so easy to deny knowledge, so very easy in the smoke and din to mask that something dark had taken root. This was Chicago, on the eve of the greatest fair in history.” – Page 38 This quote was from the first chapter of the book, which set the scene of Chicago in the late 19th century. It explained the two main plots of the book: the World Fair and Holmes’s killing spree. The “something dark” taking root within the first sentence differentiates the “greatest fair in history” of the second sentence, which ends up taking place at the same time and place.
John Steinbeck believes in the book “of mice and men” that, we as humans cannot comprehend when we don’t feel a sense of lost somewhere in the world, because having this loss gives us an emotional feeling that releases anger and rage on yourself and others. In the introduction “Of Mice and Men” this theme is used a lot when they come running out of Weed. A lots of understanding broke on Lennie's face. “ They run us out of weed,” he exploded triumphantly.
1. Of Mice and Men begins with a description of a picturesque woodland that surrounds the Salinas River. It is filled with rabbits, birds, and other innocent, almost “lifeless” animals. The water is described as “warm” and “twinkling.” The author's use of word choice and imagery creates a calm, idyllic setting.
In July of 1856, Benson Lossing was influenced by the Foundering Fathers to construct a proposed a seal of the United States entitled “Rebellion to Tyrants is Obedience to God.” The concepts of tyranny influenced American Revolutionaries because the American colonists did not want to follow the tyrant of England. The Biblical Imagery on the seal is similar to the experience of the Revolutionaries struggle with King George. The Founding Fathers used the motto, “Rebellion to Tyrants, is Obedience to God.” This quote defines tyranny because tyrants believe they are the highest power, but the Americans will rebel against the tyrant.

Jonas experienced a lot of things while training, including war, but also countless pieces of happiness. For example, Jonas wanted to never go back after experiencing horrid things like war, but then also experienced things he had never seen before. Things like, a birthday party, museums, and animals. Jonas did not want wisdom, honor, training or pain. He wanted an ordinary life.
In Fromm 's essay "Disobedience as a Psychological and Moral Problem" he talks about the reason why people are obedient. Fromm states that they are obedient because most people do not have enough courage to be alone. Whey they are obedient, it makes them feel secure because they are accepted by society. On the other hand, disobedience is not accepted by society, so if people disobey, they become an outsider. For instance, if a person is raised to think that stealing is wrong, they have also witnessed how others who do steal are treated by society.
“Sir, sir wake up now.” I couldn’t understand him very well he looked like he was eating something. “Get out of here you stupid jerk.” said the strange man maybe even a guy in college. I looked up and asked him where I was and he said a group of people in long black robes dropped me off and I was passed out.
