Hello Pius, While I do agree obesity is a national issue, I don’t agree that buffets are to blame there have always been all you can eat buffets. I would put the blame more on the lack of exercise starting in childhood due to technology and the distraction it is for children, as a child I remember spending all day outside from sun up to sun down I was outside every day I was allowed and wasn’t stuck in school. Now things are much different “AAP has estimated that the average child can spend upwards of 7 hours of TV, internet usage and video games per day! The scary thought is that everything else is taking a back seat including: quality family time, reading, homework, and exercise.
I am writing to inform you about the topic that has been progressing for several years now. This topic has been effecting both the students as well as the schools nationwide. Indeed, I believe that it is time to take action and stop this controversy while we still can. No one enjoys the idea of hunger and especially when you are stuck a place for certain amount of hour. To change the world we need to combat obesity! Being that obesity is the 5th leading cause of deaths worldwide it has become a major issue (EASO, n.d.). Obesity is no longer just in the high income countries we associate it with, it’s now prevalent in middle and low income countries as well. This is cause for concern because now 65% of the world’s population lives in a country where more people die from being overweight or obese instead of being underweight. Death is an extreme when it comes to obesity, but still likely, and it’s mostly seen in the elderly.
Well now the Christmas season is over its time to pull in the belts and start losing some of that excess fat we gained over the holidays. Last year was the same after Christmas I took on an extra few pounds from overindulging on festive delights, sweets and of course loads of excess alcohol. So what 's a girl to do these days I 've tried crash diets and Atkins and South Beach, none of them really that good for the long term. What I have found lately was a new diet which I 'm glad to say fits into my routine and is something more permanent.
