My assignment for the writing 101 group project was to present how to conduct an interview. The information for this presentation came from The Curious Researcher by Bruce Ballinger. My group consisted of five people, we all would present this topic together. Knowing that we had a big group for a relatively small presentation, we had to divide the groups roles up very evenly so everyone could participate. This was the first thing we did as a group.
The American Dream The Dust Bowl was the leading cause of an economic depression in the 1930s. It was due to poor agricultural practices in the Midwest. These practices left lots of topsoil and when the wind came it created giant dust storms. These dust storms were so bad that they killed all of the crops on the farms, which was how a majority of families in the Midwest made money. The first article reviewed was Accountability, Transparency, and Citizen Engagement in Government Financial Reporting. The abstract discusses the accountability and transparency needs from the public view and how the Federal Financial Accountability and Transparency Act (FFAFA) respond to those needs. Also discussed are the rewards for transparency and tools utilized to increase transparency in all levels of government. Citizens are requiring fiscal accountability and transparency at all levels of government.
The three different research methods are naturalistic observations, surveys, and case studies. A naturalistic observation is when someone is observing people or animals in a natural environment or set. A naturalistic observation would be good to use when you observing people in a a cafeteria. For example under appropriate conditions, you can observe the amount of people who naturally order healthy food verses unhealthy food. Naturalistic observation are good only if you take the time to observe people in their natural environments.

Several weeks ago, there was a national conversation about sexual harassment and assault with the #notokay moment. I spent some time reflecting on the experiences I 'd had in high school, college and as a young woman. My oldest daughter, who is in seventh grade, and I spoke about my experiences. I wanted her to know that she doesn 't need to accept being treated as prey and that she would be doing these boys a favor by informing a teacher or administrator if a boy touches her or makes lewd comments or otherwise harasses her. My thought was that some of these boys may have a man as a role model who is setting a poor example when it comes to respecting the dignity of others, and that early education/intervention could help the boys.
As I approached the entrance of the store I saw that the sidewalks and the parking lot were both clean and free of any type of trash or debris and the windows and glass doors of the entrance to the store were clean with no visible dirt or smudges. There was a sales promotion in the window that advertised their current 24 month interest free promotion. I entered the store and began to browse in the section where the bedroom sets were located, I noticed that the furniture was nicely arranged, with decorative pillows and other accent pieces that really helped to enhance the bedroom sets. In the following conversations, I posted on Jan. 26, Jan. 31, Feb. 2, Feb. 7. I also participated in the video session on Feb. 5th. I feel that these posts and video session provided an exemplary level of engagement. For example, in the following post with my peer Elizabeth, I substantively added onto the conversation by expressing my own experience about how it is essential to develop effective communication and expressing to other professionals working with the same students on a consistent routine. I tried to express to my peers how the teacher should have handled the situation differently by communicating with the teacher how to fix their teaching style in order to help the student be more successful.
How do I know? The students were effectively engaged during the lesson plan and learning process. Furthermore, I know that the students were productively engaged based on the comments and questions that they said during the lesson. During the lesson the students were excited about the group work and the writing process.
