Of mice and men should be read rather than seen as a movie because the images that cross your mind during the book feel more real than the movie shows. The characters portray a different feeling in the movie than the book. As the reader, the beginning gives you a phenomenal image of the area they were living in. The sounds in the movie really matched the characters feelings during the book including little songs.

In the movie, his voice sounds like he has some speech problems when he pronounces words. In the movie, Lennie didn’t seem that big as much as they say how he is huge. Candy is a character in the movie who is in the bunkhouse but is really old. He doesn’t have much time to live and has a really old dog that other characters convince him they should kill the dog. He has wrinkly skin and a big stomach in the movie. Curley's wife is very flirtatious with other guys even though she is married. She lives in a bunkhouse with Curley but doesn’t like Curley that much. The boys don’t really talk to her because they don’t want to be “under her spell of flirtiness”. In the movie, I expected George to look older than Lennie but he looks younger which makes it feel weird.
As Lennie and George move around to different places because Lennie keeps getting into trouble, Lennie always wants to feel something soft. When he does feel something soft when George lets him, Lennie ends up killing these things because they are living things. Giving people second chances was a big idea in the book because Lennie got a second chance to behave even though he blew it. When he blew his second chance, it was the end.
