The novella, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, tells the wonderful story of a special relationship between the two characters, George and Lennie. The relationship between George and Lennie is brotherly. After George and Lennie met with their new boss who was already unsure of them, started to question why George spoke for Lennie. George reassuringly told the boss, “I ain’t saying he’s bright. He ain’t. But I say he’s a God damn good worker” (22). As a brother would, George was brutally honest about Lennie and his state of mind. However he still defended Lennie because he needed a job and wouldn’t survive without George. If the boss still only took one of them, George and Lennie wouldn’t take the job because they stuck together no matter what,
