The book Of Mice And Men also known as OMAM starts off with 2 men George and Lennie being dropped off a Few miles South of Soledad California, Soledad actually translates to loneliness. George was a short fellow but also was a smart man. He took care of his cousin Lennie because Lennie had autism. Lennie was a tall,strong and really hard working fella but he could kill small animals with his bare hands. The two went to a ranch looking for work since Lennie had got in trouble in a town called Weed.
In John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men”, Lennie and George travel together to work. They discuss the trouble they experience with Lennie's touching things he shouldn't and how that forces them to run, hide, and constantly search for work. Throughout the book, Steinbeck gives just a small picture of all the trouble Lennie has caused and how George continues to guide him to get by. A problem with a girl leads us to chapter 1 and 6, and how they share in setting, but George and Lennie's interactions differ. The similarities and differences of chapter 1 and 6 show how Lennie and George's cohesive friendship with a bright future develops into a loving bond that had to end.

After a mishap leads to Lennie killing a rancher’s wife, George kills Lennie as an act of mercy for the safety of others and for Lennie himself. There’s Monica Geller from Friends: the one who likes to take care of everyone else’s messes. It is probable that during one time or another in one’s life, there has been someone there as a guide, a guardian, a person that protects one from the outside world. To start off, In “ Of Mice and Men” written by John Steinbeck, the book itself is a winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. The two main characters, George and Lennie, are acquaintances that travel together working on different ranches. Although George is not exactly acquaintances with Lennie’s Aunt Clara, she asks George if he can watch over him and, in a way, be Lennie’s family. Therefore, George protects Lennie from getting in trouble with others to avoid getting fired from the ranches in which they work on.
In the book Of Mice and Men, we have two distinctly great characters, with a slight twist to one of them, as one of the characters is a bit slower, mentally. However, they have come a long way so far. Since they were stuck together, they planned for their dream of having a ranch where they would escape the hell of a place the world had been for them. Our characters, George and Lennie have been in and out of jobs, all over the country, all in hopes of getting money and buying a ranch. Sadly, because Lennie isn’t fully functional in the head because of his disability, he causes a lot of trouble in the places they are.

In the novel “Of Mice and Men” Steinbeck describes the remarkable relationship between the 2 main characters, George and Lennie, compared to a wise man on the ranch known as Candy and his old dog. Through Steinbeck's dialogue, the idea of loyalty and protection is revealed among the relationship of the characters. During George’s talk with Slim, he explained to him what Lennie went through in Weed. When bringing up the situation about the red dress, George clarifies that Lennie has no intention of doing such things and that he is just dumb. In the 1930’s Steinbeck had spent many nights at home researching all about the lives of a specific group of people. The important group of people were the migrant workers, especially those who were white. He learned all about them and the life of working on a farm in California. He also looked backed at his own experiences and his life when he was younger. Steinbeck used this knowledge of the life of bindlestiffs and others on the farm, the Spreckels Ranches, and his early life as his inspiration to write one of his best known novellas, Of Mice and Men.

According to Aristotle theory on friendship, Lennie and George are virtuous friends. They had a friendship for a long time. Lennie and George both have a dream of having a farm that both of them could live on together. They want to live on a farm together without worrying. While people believe that Lennie and George were pleasure friends because they shared a dream, They have a bond and only share that dream because of that bond which is why they are virtuous friends.
Friendship means something Friendship is a relationship between people that have mutual trust and support. Lennie and George's friendship is about George taking care of Lennie throughout the novel. Lennie and George used their friendship to work on a farm together. A friendship can turn from the worst just like in this novel did with Lennie and George.
