Operant Conditioning Writing Assignment I decided to train my 15-year-old sister in order that she wakes up at 6:30 am every day of the week so that this way she gets early to school and I get early to college since I have to take her to school. Her original behavior is that she does not get up at 6:30 am by herself on the week and I have to wake her up. When I wake her up, she likes to listen to music at a high volume to get dressed and is very irritating for me to listen to music at a high volume in the morning. The desired version of the behavior is that she gets up at 6:30 am by herself every day of the week and gets ready by 7:20 am so we can both get early to school. Also, I wanted to create punishments and reinforcements so that I could shape better her behavior and she could learn to wake up at 6:30 am by herself on the week. I selected to take out her loud music in the mornings as a negative punishment because it is something that she likes to do when she wakes up. Also, I utilized cleaning the dishes and the bathroom as a punishment or/and as a reinforcement depending on her possible behaviors because those are tasks that she does not like to do. Doing this conditioning activity helped me understand better how the behavior of a person or an organism works. Changing the behavior of a person is not an easy task, it requires time and effort. In addition, changing the behavior of a person depends on the person which behavior will be attempted to be changed and the punishments and reinforcements that will be given depending the behavior of that person or organism. Not every behavior can be changed the same way since every person and/or organism acts
