The 12 Angry Men was initially a play written in 1954. Three years later it became a highly successful film. The author's purpose for writing this was to make people aware of what was happening in society at that time. The 1950s were a very hard time for people of color. It was stated that Reginald Rose the author of 12 Angry Men was known for writing about social and political issues during the year of him writing the 12 Angry Men.

Based on the article by Manual Velasquez (et. al.), “Justice and Fairness,” the concepts of justice and fairness are clearly illustrated as distinct from one another. Here, "Justice means giving each person what he or she deserves," while fairness "has been used to refer to the ability to make judgments that are not overly general, but that are concrete and specific to a particular case. " These ideas can be applied to the play, 12 Angry Men, where the playwright, Reginald Rose, illustrates the impossibility of true justice within a legal system where fairness is absent. Justice and fairness are connected and in the legal system you cannot have one without the other.
In the 1950’s the American court primarily depended on evidence and witnesses to prove someone guilty in any case. Being accused of something is a feeling that no one would want to experience. “Twelve Angry Men” by Reginald Rose is a play in which twelve jurors try to interpret a case that revolves around a 16-year-old boy who is accused of murdering his father. Throughout this whole play the jurors are responsible for deciding the destiny of the boy. Rose portrays the contrasting opinions of Juror Three and Juror Eight, who contradict on their perspectives of solicitude, justice, and humanity.

By choosing the book I was most interested in, I was able to enjoy my project more and become more intrigued. The book I chose to read for my Summer Reading Project was Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose. I enjoyed researching and analyzing this book.
One big or even simple decision can change someone, something, or even the whole world drastically. It can also have an impact on more than one person like Iapetus’s decision. One decision can even make another person decide to make multiple terrible decisions.
Choices have to be made, and some of them can affect the rest of your life forever, Odysseus from The Odyssey shows us this by going on a perilous quest to get back home from the Trojan War with all of his men. He ends up at home with all of his crewmates dead, he had to make decisions for his crew, which may not have been the right decisions, but in the heat of the moment, there was only one clear choice for him. You go through tough things every day, which might not be life threatening, but they affect the rest of your life. You have to have the courage to get through every day and all the hard choices. You have to learn how your actions will influence you throughout the rest of your life.
Leadership and roles are depicted throughout the whole movie by many different jurors. The designated leader of the jury group was Juror #1. Juror #1 was when they first entered into the room but Juror #8 took the emergent role when he declined to agree with a guilty verdict. His rejection to agree in a guilty verdict was crucial since he voiced his uncertainty to the evidence at a early stage.
In “Twelve Angry Men” an issue that is brought up is the issue of judging someone solely based on their appearance and background. Jurors were ready to sentence a young adult male to jail time simply because he ‘looked guilty’. Without even discussing his case, the evidence given, or the witnesses statements a person's fate was to be sealed solely based on his outward appearance and where he lived. Which was absurd because both of those elements were out of the defendant's control. When we put that into consideration we see how dangerous the power of judgement really is.
Twelve different men with all different attitudes in the same room is nothing but bad news. Most of the men just want to say the kid is guilty, so they can go home and the kid can get whatever punishment he has come for him. Only one of the guys wants to see justice for the kid. The author wants to show that there will always be multiple opinions. Everyone will start to get frustrated with each other because everyone has a different mindset.
ANALYSIS After watching this movie I have analyzed a lot of things. There were lot of issues. The report I am trying to design shows the relationship between parts of the movie and the concepts in our subject corporate governance. Basically what I am trying to discuss here is that how and why the conflicts were arising and how these conflicts were affecting the whole negotiation process and the outcome of that negotiation.
‘Twelve Angry Men’ written by Reginald Rose, is based on the story of a jury who have to come together to determine the fate of a young boy accused to have murdered his own father. Initially, eleven of the jurors vote not guilty with one of the juror being uncertain of the evidence put before them. As the men argue over the different pieces of evidence, the insanity begins to make sense and the decision becomes clearer as they vote several other times. Rose creates drama and tension in the jury room, clearly exploring through the many issues of prejudice, integrity and compassion, in gaining true justice towards the accused victim. These aspects have been revealed through three character who are Juror 10, Juror 8 and Juror 3.
Today I’ll be ready some dialogue from the movie 12 Angry Men. It is one of my favorite movies. The plot is following the closing arguments in a murder trial, the 12 members of the jury must deliberate, with a guilty verdict meaning death for the accused, an inner-city teen. As the dozen men try to reach a unanimous decision while sequestered in a room, one juror (Henry Fonda) casts considerable doubt on elements of the case.
The movie “Twelve Angry Men” illustrates lots of social psychology theories. This stretched and attractive film, characterize a group of jurors who have to decide the innocence or guiltiness of an accused murder. They are simply deliberating the destiny of a Puerto Rican teenaged boy accused of murdering his father. Initially, as the film begins, except the juror Davis (Henry Fonda), all other jurors vote guilty. Progressively, the jurors begin trying to compromise on a point that everybody agree because the decision of the jury has to be unanimous.
