Organizational Structure and Best practices in Planning and Staffing The organizational structure of Apple Company was created by Steve Jobs. As the CEO, he built the structure with him as the center and everyone else around him. Jobs liked to have full control over his company, so he designed the structure to ensure that everything going on in his department, he knew about and/or went through him (kamish2.wordress.com). He believed any future CEO should perform the same way he did. The problem with this concept is not all CEOs’ possess the same talent, motivation or dedication for the company. This type of structure was built with Jobs or any future CEO being the center of the structure, so the success of it depends solely on the ability of the CEO carrying the burden of the company (kamish2.wordpress.com). Even after Steve Jobs death, his influence is still felt. They were confident in a healthy way, not in a boastful or destructive way and had a common desire to win (thestreet.com). Steve Jobs' final act of brilliance was his gift of a succession plan to all the great people who built Apple into what it is today. his succession plan is what is going to keep Apple growing and exceeding the expectations of their customers (thestreet.com). For him, he believes that the best team leaders are the ones that aren’t angling for power for power’s sake “They are the great individual contributors who never, ever want to be a manager," Jobs says. "But decide they have to be a manager because no one else is going to be able to do as good a job as them (entrepreneur.com).” In conclusion, there is no doubt that Steve Jobs has changed the way we view the world through the innovations of Apple. With age and experience, Steve Jobs became a better leader of people. In 2007, he revealed that when he started the company, he was doing the whole thing and he wasn’t good with partnering with people. “I think if Apple could have had a little more of that in its’ DNA, it would have served extremely well”
