Aliens are they real? The fictional radio drama War of the Worlds, produced by Orson Wells. Why did thousand believe that the earth was getting attacked. The radio drama “War of the Worlds” was aired on Sunday October 30th, 1938 Halloween night, at the Columbia Broadcasting System radio network. It was produced by Orson Wells because he wanted a Halloween story on Halloween night. The War of the Worlds caused thousands to believe the attack on earth was real, some should have known it was a dram because there was an announcement in the beginning and in the middle, the drama was realistic because of the well train actores and good sound effects, because of the breaking news segments, and because of those who did not hear the two announcements that were given. …show more content…

It caused chaos to many. First, the sound effects were really realistic, like when the alien was coming out of the spacecraft, because the metal was making a rattling noise as it would hit the floor. Next, the actors were very well trained because of how they would be talking to someone then it would go complete silence because someone has died. Also when they would put a lot of emotion in voices like when the alien was coming out they sounded scared like they have never seen anything like it. Secondly, they would e used to hearing the breaking news because what was going on in France so they weren't really aware. Then, some did pay attention to the breaking news segments so when they heard about the “meteorite” they thought it was real. Also, many did not listen to the first announcement in the beginning of the drama because many just finished listening to the ventriloquist Edgar and his dummy on NBC, which ended around 8:12 then they turned to CBS when the announcement already pasted. Then, many have missed the second announcement because they may have gotten scared and hide or drove away before it had
