Oscar Romero
A hero is the person who shows moral justice and human rights. Oscar Romero was the hero who kept his belief of justice and faith in human rights even in the face of death. He passed beyond his theology, but remained his belief, moral and justice deeply in our heart.
Romero was the arch bishop in EI Salvador. But he gave up his secured positon in the church and became a strong voice of non-violence. He stood up for people and shared his final moment with people. With a sound of bullet hit into his heart, Oscar Romero ended his life and returned to God.

His previous action stroke a pain spot of the rulers (government). After a short period peace, heavier riot happened. Romero speaks directly to soldiers and policeman:” I beg you, I implore you, and I order you….in the name of God, stop the repression!” With nothing left but his own voice, Romero continued to preach hope, peace and love to the citizens on the radio and during mass. He called on the El Salvadoran soldiers to end the violence. He reminded them of their common brotherhood, and he prodded them to consider the higher calling that “thou shall not kill!” In the end Oscar Romero shared his final moment with people he loved. He served his last public mass. At last he devoted his life to indicate that everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expressions. "I do not believe in death without resurrection," he once said. "If they kill me, I will be resurrected in the Salvadoran people."
Like many great leaders who have fought for truth, Oscar Romero was killed and became a saint and a saviour. His flesh was destroyed by a morbid monster however, his voice could not be silenced. He is a symbol of hope in a country that has suffered poverty, injustice and violence. For once he said: “This is what we are about: We plant the seeds that one day will grow.
