In many cases in our world, heroes had not always been heroes, they had started out as bystanders, or even perpetrators. Oskar Schindler is a great example of this. Starting out as a Nazi officer trying to make an enormous amount of money, Schindler was a perpetrator. Afterwards, Schindler changed his views and his universe of obligation. He changed from a perpetrator and became a legendary hero who saved hundreds of Jews. Although this massive change was surprising, heroes always evolve. The Holocaust was a horrible genocide that killed millions of mostly Jews, and Schindler did not want to be a part of that, Schindler evolved into a hero. Because of this, Schindler joined the Nazis and helped eliminate Jews in the beginning. For example, Schindler was responsible for stealing an innocent Jewish family’s house. Schindler saved multiple kids from concentration camps as well as seniors who even had missing limbs. With some help from Itzhak Stern, Schindler had evolved into a rescuer to those in concentration camps.
