Evaluation of the Otterbox Phone Case
As technology has evolved over the years cell phones have changed tremendously. As we were once limited to only making phone calls on a cell phone we are now open to a variety of options of texting, internet capabilities, and email all with one click of a button. The amount of consumer in the United States who owns a smartphone is 223 million people and this number is growing rapidly. Of these consumers over 90 million own an Apple iPhone, and Android phone user consisted of 107.7 million On average, as reported in 2016 a consumer will spend the average amount of $651 on an iPhone, while other smartphone users will spend $208 on an Android device (Statista 2016). When spending hundreds of dollars on a smartphone it is important one maintains and takes care of the phone to ensure their investment will not be destroyed. Furthermore, as the smartphone industry became increasingly popular for consumers as this trend took off problems began to occur. Consumers began to note that these smartphones were not durable as when they were easily dropped screens would crack and causing damage to the overall device. On average a screen replacement for the iPhone 6s by Apple charges $129 (Purewal 2016). With this problem coming more apparent, a business was developed to combat this issue.
