For my Capstone Project, I chose the career as physician assistant. I worked hard throughout the year to make sure I make a good grade on the Capstone Project. I job shadowed at D.D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in the pain management unit. I spent most of the time observing my mentor while she performed check-ups on her patients. Also, I saw my mentor give injections to patients to help with pain.
I am grateful to experience what it is like to have an extraordinary employer. Not many people can say they had the chance to work for someone who is not only a strong leader, but an exceptional mentor. I had the pleasure of working as a Residential Assistance for Mr. Joseph at Florida Memorial University for a year, and I could not have asked for a better experience. His dedication and passion for the students at Florida Memorial University was refreshing and uplifting. In Residential Life, our main focus was the residence’s housing experience; however, Mr. Joseph sincerely cared about each student’s wellbeing and success.
Texas is home to nearly 10,000 nurse practitioners. Nurse practitioners (NPs) in Texas do not have as many freedoms as NP 's in many other states. In fact, Texas falls at the lower end of the spectrum regarding the freedoms it offers nurse practitioners. House Bill 1885 would grant full practice authority in Texas to all advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), including nurse practitioners (NPs). It would authorize APRNs to evaluate and diagnose patients; order and interpret diagnostic tests; and initiate and manage treatments; prescribing of medications, these are currently job descriptions of APRNs and NPs that they are already doing, however, it would move these items under the exclusive licensure authority of the Texas Board of Nursing.
I am writing to apply for the LLD II (1:1) ABA paraprofessional available at Little Falls School #1. I would like to be considered for this position since I have a strong interest in working with younger children. As you can see from my resume, I have over eight years of experience in working with younger children. Throughout my professional career, I have worked as a teacher assistant, a teacher, a substitute teacher and a preschool full day ABA paraprofessional. I have assisted and supported children both individually and in slightly larger groups.
Being a health science student whose infant sister was successfully delivered at BC Children’s Hospital and one who also had the opportunity to help clients inquire into the hospital, I have had several opportunities to learn about the its pediatric programs and found myself wanting to be part of its operations. As a student whose concentration is in public health, chronic disease and genetic disorders, I feel that I have the knowledge required for a respirology project assistant. Furthermore, I believe my experience communicating with Chinese patients, translating medical documents and collecting data from clients with PWD statuses are assets I can bring to the project, particularly in a culture and status sensitive place like Vancouver.
I had a great opportunity to interview a beautiful paralegal inner and outer with a humble personality. Her name is Autumn Virgadamo who is originally from Dallas, Texas. She has been living in Northern California for approximately two years. She works for Hunton & Williams which is a major international law corporation out the San Francisco, California office. She was eager to allow me interview her and I would like to share her interview with you.
Clarissa, I would agree that, Certified Nurses Assistants are not medically trained to administer medication and that task should be handled by an LPN or an RN. Just for the fact that administering medications involves more than giving the residents their medication, there are tasks, such as, including reviewing the order; confirming that the medication order is correct; reviewing all warnings, interactions, and allergies; evaluating the patient after the medication has been administered.
Paraprofessionals became common in the 1950s, when a shortage of certified teachers and parents' efforts to develop community-based educational services for children and adults with disabilities created a need to hire teacher assistants. At this time, paraprofessionals played mainly a clerical role and performed basic routine and housekeeping tasks in

As an aspiring physician in Emergency Medicine, it is hard to describe typical physician workday activities. Every day is unique and filled with many opportunities to learn and develop clinical, interpersonal communication, leadership and critical thinking skills. Despite this, there are certain routine activities which I had the opportunity to observe through my shadowing experience in the Emergency and Operating rooms at California Hospital Medical Center, Los Angeles. One day, a two year old patient came into the ER after falling and cutting her head. The patient’s mother told the physician that her daughter is nervous and scared.
The issue below was recently brought to my discovery by several high-school paraprofessionals. I was told that we should submit a pay/coverage sheet every time we cover a classroom. If what you are saying is true, there are a lot of elementary paraprofessionals level that are owed back pay; including myself. Were paraprofessionals to be paid for I.E.P. coverage, no subs, and faculty departing campus early; if we covered for 1/2 hour, hour coverage etc.? I 've been employed for thirty years, we 've only received paid for two hours or more at the elementary level.
Based on this case the cost driver is to properly distribute the direct cost among the different divisions. Dr. Julian would like to control her departments costs by having them distributed fairly among the divisions without affecting the hospital’s reimbursement/revenue. Carroll University Hospital is currently using the standard costing unit, which is based on the cost of bed/day for inpatients. Currently the present cost accounting system that is being used at CUH takes the total direct cost of the departments, then allocates the indirect costs and distributes it among the departments evenly regardless of the actual resources being used in those departments, and without considering that there may be some patients in these divisions that may require more resources than others, this method does not seem to recognize the different activities,
Disability service users come in contact with a variety of therapies and services which help enable them to become more self-reliant. The role of these therapy practices is not only to treat the disability that the clients present with, but also treat the individual as a whole to enable them to participate in their required and desired activities. Occupational therapy by definition enhances individuals’ ability to “…engage in the occupations they want to, or need to, or are expected to do, or by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their occupational engagement” (World Federation of Occupational Therapists, 2017). It therefore provides a way for individuals to feel empowered through choices and adaptations they make
