Impacts Of Design On Environment And Society

Environment

Aircraft manufacturing has adverse effects on the environment. Factories inevitably emit dangerous pollutants. The plane also emits greenhouse gases in flight, in the same manner as cars. This negatively impacts the environment. Some manufacturing companies, such as Airbus and Boeing are trying to minimise aircraft’s ecological footprint.

Another negative point is the noise produced. Aircraft are extremely loud and can disturb the world below.

Society

Airlines supply goods and services between countries, heightening competition around the globe. Air travel promotes investment in infrastructure for transport, especially connecting airports. Airplanes also facilitate collaboration between companies. This produces innovation. Tourism is also a major business, which is greatly supported by air
