Before applying to the University of Pennsylvania there were a number of factors that I had to consider in order to decide if it was a school I wanted to attend. The most fitting school for me is the school that best prepares me to do well in the profession I will pursue. Therefore, in selecting my schools I needed to recognize and understand what it takes for a business to succeed and what each school could provide that would prepare me to be successful as the leader of a business.

The first reason I chose to apply to Penn is that academically it is one of the world’s top universities. More than anything else, the guarantee of a world-class education is the most powerful argument any school can give its prospective applicants. I felt this was particularly important because the business world is extremely competitive and in order for a business to succeed it is necessary for it to be differentiated from its competitors, and I thought the Wharton School could offer this through how its education would impact me. …show more content…

Of all the world’s athletes, the one whom I most admire is Bill Russell. Bill Russell is a man who won eleven NBA championships and stood by his integrity, recently being honoured with the Medal of Freedom for his contributions to the civil rights movement. His book “11 Lessons on Leadership and Success” influenced the way I approached teamwork and leadership and I was able to test his beliefs and establish my own by consciously and actively working to make the basketball team
