This September I will be going off to high school. I will be attending Monsignor Farrell High School in Staten Island. I can’t wait to go to high school and take a big step toward adulthood. I expect a lot of things will happen in high school and I am looking forward to it.
EEE 370 Post-Mortem Assignment: A Reflection of Help My Profile As the end of spring semester in my freshman year approached, I looked towards my schedule in the fall and noticed that the first class I had to take towards my Finance minor was EEE 370. After speaking with multiple people about the class, it seemed like the perfect situation for me to further explore how my major could be applied to the real world. After going on a five-day immersion trip with the iSchool to various start-ups in New York City’s “Silicon Alley”, I developed an interest in entrepreneurship.
To Hofstra’s Financial Aid Department, I would like to thank Hofstra for admitting me as part of the class of 2021. Hofstra is an exceptional school where innovation is encouraged, as evidenced by the multitude of entrepreneur competitions that provides opportunities for students to achieve their goals and visions. My personal goal and vision are to attend Hofstra university for I know that the programs at Hofstra are focused on developing students to pioneer ideas and influence the future. I myself aspire to develop programs to positively pave the path for the next generation; By developing a non-profit that allows students to easily understand their financial situation and inexpensively send their reports to colleges, students from middle and lower economic backgrounds will not be
As I think of the University of Mississippi, the aspect that most impresses me, and is an addition to my desire to immerse myself in this prominent learning community is the University's outstanding resources. I am very attracted to the opportunity to explore and learn at the University of Mississippi's science departments. Science has been my academic passion ever since I entered middle school. Since then, I have always wanted to get into the medical field to become a neurologist. I believe the brain is a black box with endless mysteries waiting to be explored.
How life goes on we experience a lot of things that can either teach us an important lesson or nothing at all. I have learned more than one lesson in my life, but there’s one that I will always keep in mind to help others like it helped me. Thanks to John Tyler High School Drill Team I have self-confidence and courage to do risky things that I never thought I would be doing. Now I believe in myself and I don’t let fear dull my success, I fight for what I want until I get it even if it take a long time, I don’t give up that easy anymore.
Throughout the college application process, it has become increasingly evident to me that NYU is unlike other schools due to its prioritization of individuality. Coming from a small Catholic high school, one of my goals for the next four years is to branch out and better myself through being a part of a diverse and open-minded student body. The diversity of culture, religion, opinion, and even personality at NYU is extremely important to me, and shows that the school is an open and accepting environment for all. The tradition of Ally Week especially interests me, as I am constantly trying to use the privileges I have been given to the advantage of those who do not share those same privileges. This dedication to equality is truly what makes NYU
At NYU, I hope to achieve this goal. I aspire to give structure to my life by participating in rigorous courses that will enable me to pursue a career in treating mental illnesses. In the College of Arts and Sciences, I intend to acquire skills in communication, analytical thinking and understanding human social behavior, cultivating my passion for understanding what makes the human brain so fascinating. Situated in one of the largest cultural hubs of the world, NYU would allow me to, like the squiggle, explore my interests. I would be able to visit museums such as the Whitney or take part in clubs such the Slam Poetry Club and Model UN or even partake in the annual Strawberry Festival.

I am first generation college student. I started Florida Gulf Coast University four years after I migrated from Jamaica along with my Dad, in pursuits of “an opportunity”- something that is very scarce outside of the continental United States. Before coming to FGCU, I went to Miramar High School; I graduated with honors and promised my Dad that within four years I would bring home my bachelors degree in Finance. August 14th, 2013 marked move in day at Florida Gulf Coast University. My first few weeks at Florida Gulf Coast University introduced me to the dreariest days and nights of my life.
I became a school counselor simply because I wanted to live a life of meaning and be a force for good in the world. Throughout life, having real and honest conversations that support growth, positive change, and owning responsibility are critical to self-actualization. I want to empower my students to give their best effort in all areas of life, not just their education. I believe that simple encouragement in this type of environment is the key to positive change, and I wanted to dedicate my professional life to reflect that belief. I whole-heartly believe in the holistic approached to a balanced and fulfilling life and being a school counselor is a unique career that fulfills this value.
Foundation courses on financial management, microeconomics, macroeconomics and financial reporting will help me learn other equally important aspects of business. Santa Clara University, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, has access to industry experts, which will help me broaden my views and professional connections. I will also have an opportunity to participate in professional networks like the MBA Marketing Network and Women in Business Council. This will provide me with a platform to build a strong professional network and connect with the university alumni. The rigorous coursework combined with the background of the faculty covering a wide spectrum of topics will help create a solid foundation for achieving
At some point between my graduation from the University of Kansas in 2011, and the opening of my graduate career at Arizona State University, I began to realize that the great majority of the literature which resonated strongest with me came directly from or was somehow closely affiliated with the modernist period. It was this dawning recognition which led me to ASU in 2013, as my awareness of the period’s impact on my life began to gel, an awareness that recognized the coherent progression from a youthful interest in Rex Stout, to a teenage one in William Faulkner and Virginia Woolf, to an adult passion for Ezra Pound and his mystifying Cantos. With this recognition came an urgent need, a demand to understand the draw of works from this period and to find a way to share the excitement about language which I experienced in reading them with others. My master’s degree study at ASU provided me with the tools and opportunities for beginning to tackle these concerns. I worked extensively with Gregory Castle on projects in the field of modernism, developing from a relationship established in a course on aesthetic theory in my second semester.
Working on a personal level, especially children, has always appealed to me. Whether it be babysitting, tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering I have always been involved in activities that allow me to interact with others. While attending Ohio State University I discovered some great opportunities to engage in more advanced fields and tie my passion with my major. I became Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) certified and worked with an adolescent male on the autism spectrum multiple nights a week. I worked with my advisor to create and modify a behavior plan with a rewards system to help with his social, vocational, and independence skills.
I have wanted to transfer to Cornell University since the day I started community college. I believe CU is the ideal place where I can achieve my aspirations. Since childhood, I have always been interested in dismantling household objects that I would find as I would wander my grandfather's home during my uneventful summer breaks. Because of my innate captivation and yearning to further explore the practicality of circuits and applications of electrical engineering, I have taken almost all of the engineering courses offered at my community college. I aspire to obtain an education that is both theoretically sound and practically applicable, so that I can serve as a positive role model in my community.
The heart of New York City is New York University. By joining the network of NYU, I will be able to study at an institution that has a long tradition of academic excellence among private universities in the United States. Additionally, I will be able to be part of an internationally recognized learning network with locations all across the globe. It would be a pleasure to study at a globally recognized university. A friend of mine who is a recent graduate from NYU College of Nursing has praised the program and conveyed to me a very positive experience.
