In this steps it states”the heros enter a world they have never experienced before. ”In Chapter 5 of the Lightning theif it states”Welcome to Camp half blood. ”This fact aligns with the hero’s Journey because percy has never experienced like camp half blood before. This step is the first step of the hero’s journey because it shows
Initially, when Percy played capture the flag in his camp, his persevere characteristic kept him alive. Annabeth was very close to killing him, but he never gave up, and fought for his team. ”(142). This quote was from Lightning Thief. “Usually there is a discovery, some event, or some danger that starts them on a heroic path” This quote comes from Hero’s Journey, stage: “Call for Adventure”. I think these two quotes align together because Percy needs to retrieve what was stolen.

The altered phases of voyage recognized to have originated to be called the "hero's journey." Many quests supply friends, servants, or disciples as company for the heroes. Two myths that did this were, “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief” and, “Jason and the Argonauts.” In the myth of Percy Jackson, a young demigod named Percy needs to find and return Zeus’ lightning bolt which lets him create lightning. On his way to finish his mission Percy faces many enemies such as Medusa, a bellhop from the Lotus Hotel, Ares, and a multi-headed dragon. He even gets the power to control water.
Percy has learned his role throughout the story as he journeys to bring back what was taken from his uncle (Zeus) to keep peace in the world. Some challenges was getting to know that he was son of Poseidon, being attacked by the three furies, and being betrayed by the ones he called a true friend to a King Titan
Again, Percy’s ability to communicate and coordinate a team are tested, but unlike the encounter with the furies, he is successful this time. Percy’s growth is especially clear when he acknowledges Annabeth’s successful calculations, saying “If we’d have jumped when I thought we should’ve, we would’ve crashed”, admitting that Annabeth saved their lives (240). Percy communicates well, delegating responsibilities— “‘Get into that booth! Find the ‘on’ switch’” he yells to Grover, “‘Unfasten your seatbelt’” he yells to Annabeth—to guide the group. The test of the waterpark displays Percy’s confident leadership abilities as he coordinates
In the epic poem, “The Odyssey of Homer” translated by Allen Mandelbaum, our epic hero even though physically strong, he relies more on his mind than his muscles. The Odyssey focuses on Odysseus, “ a man of twists and turns” trying to get home to his wife and son after being lost at sea for years. Throughout Odysseus journey, he is able to use his cunning mind to get himself out of danger and return home. The Odyssey shows how the skillful mind can be more effective than brute strength. First of all, Odysseus’ victory in the Trojan War was won using his skillful tactics.
One Thousand and One Nights or The Arabian Nights in the English translation, is a collection of texts and folktales compiled during the Arabic Islamic period in the Middle Eastern area. Most of the poems are single couplets or quatrains, although some are longer. Throughout the Arabian Nights the initial frame story is of the Sultan Shahryar 's wife Scheherazade telling him stories for a 1,001 night. This is not only for her survival, but for the safety of the other woman. Each tale has its own themes, but all of the stories have a moral.
The hero archetypes that the two stories would share is the ‘Prodigy’ -- the hero theme being the ‘Underdog’ -- and lastly for the plot type being the ‘Quest’. To start, the hero archetypes in the movie -- and the original story would be both the ‘Misfit’ and the ‘Prodigy’. In the movie “Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief”, the main character Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon -- had things such as ADHD and dyslexia, and in camp Half-Blood Annabeth and many other of the people in the camp had their doubts about Percy, especially of the idea about Percy defeating Hades.
