Personal Classroom Management Philosophy

My personal classroom management philosophy is to provide an equal, optimistic, learning environment. I believe the environment should be friendly, and students are all equals with the ability to actively listen to the teacher. The environment should be controlled and disciplined, but not authoritarian . Students are innately curious, disruptive and talkative. Rules will be set in place, however this is a learning environment so we will constantly work on appropriate behavior. The teacher should be in charge of the classroom at all times, while allowing students to independently lead themselves. T he teacher should be in charge, they should also be supportive, encouraging and helpful, not a dictator. A backbone is a necessity when teaching. I would lik e to manage my students . By managing students, you offer an open environment that students can learn in compared to a disciplined classroom where the students are too afraid to act out or even speak. I also feel it is important to develop classroom rules as a whole and then spend time going over them. This time will allow the students to have better understandings and know why these have been set in place. This will also give them time to ask questions and test the limits. As far as the rule, I do believe in punishment and rewards. If a student excels at something they would get a reward. This reward will be unknown so they do not base their work off of it. The y will be punished but I will try to keep it within the classroom as long as possible. The
